In-House Test: XINGHUO Borosilicate Heated to Around 820°C

XINGHUO Glass reports that in an in-house extreme heating test, its high-borosilicate glass was heated to around 820°C — close to the material’s softening point — without cracking. The company stresses that this was an internal material ceiling test, not a rated working condition or a certified figure.

The Test Result

The figure comes from an in-house extreme heating test on borosilicate glass samples, run to find how close to its softening point the glass could be heated without cracking. The sample remained intact at around 820°C, near the temperature at which borosilicate glass normally begins to soften. This is a test ceiling, not a temperature a finished product is expected to meet in daily use.

Why Borosilicate Glass

Borosilicate glass is chosen for its low thermal expansion, chemical stability, and clarity. XINGHUO Glass has worked on borosilicate formulations and production for years, adjusting raw material ratios and forming processes to improve how the glass handles temperature change. Compared with soda-lime glass, which typically withstands a sudden temperature change of about 40–70°C, borosilicate offers a much wider margin in the kitchen, with a rated working range from −20 to 150°C.

“Kitchen temperatures change fast, and customers want glassware they can rely on. This work on heat resistance is the base for that,” said the company’s R&D team.
